I have a Camelia that is around 25 years old - I have recntly moved it and it appeared ok but now seems to be dying - I know it is hot and we are in a south facing garden - it was my late mother's so I want to save it - the leaves are going brown and curling up - I was told to give it ericaceous feed so I added some ericaceous compost - I have been giving it lots of water - any advice would be much appreciated

Thanks

Hello,

When you say you moved this Camellia, do you mean it has been dug up? Could it have sustained some root damage? Camellias like shade, acid soil and shelter from strong winds. Watering it a lot with mains water may also cause damage because the water probably has a high pH (alkaline) which is exactly the opposite to the ericaceous compost.
Move the plant to a sheltered, shady site, continue to feed it but only about once a fortnight and whenever possible water it with rain water (that's another reason why it is a good idea to have a water butt)

Hope I have been of some help...

Good luck.
